All Levels Vinyasa

At Solfire, ALL LEVELS means ALL YOGIS are welcome! The word “vinyasa” means: to place something in a special or meaningful way. Our all-levels classes will inspire, challenge and empower you!  Teachers bring their own unique style to each of these classes so they will vary in pace, focus and music.  We set the heat between 90- 99 degrees so these energetic vinyasa classes will make you sweat! Classes include sequences which synchronize breath with movement to create balance in the body, and build strength and flexibility. All classes encourage you to connect to mind, body, and spirit in a sweaty, heart centered, playful, compassionate way.  So work at your own pace, challenge yourself, and remember to BREATHE!

Slow Flow & Yin

Let’s turn the vinyasa practice down low—low heat, smooth beats, an end of weekend wind-down treat. You will move slowly through Sun Salutation A and simmer a little longer in other poses to allow your body to feel, your breath to soften and your mind to be at ease. Wrap it all up with some extra juicy yin poses and an extended Savasana. A great chaturanga-optional class for beginners and established students too! 75 minutes.

Spread The Light

Join us on Sundays weather-permitting at 11:30am at SUTTER’S FORT PARK, 26TH & K, for a 45 minute outdoor vinyasa class. Check out our Class Schedule for updates!

This is a Community offering, which means it is Pay-What-You-Can!

Yin

Yin Yoga is a challenging class in a different way, and the perfect complement to the movement and flow of a Power Vinyasa class. Yin targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and joints of the body that are not exercised in a different way in a vinyasa (yang) class. Poses target the hips, pelvis, and lower spine and postures are held anywhere from one to seven minutes. Yin and yang tissues respond quite differently to being exercised and it’s best to experience a class to really know what Yin Yoga is all about. After you have tried it, even just once, you will realize the benefits and see that Vinyasa flow is really only “half” of your practice.

Please note: Yin Yoga is not restorative yoga. Like all yoga practices, if the tissues you are targeting for exercise are damaged or injured, please give yourself a chance to heal before resuming your regular practice.
